1. Policy Statement

Quarry One Eleven Ltd is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees, contractors, clients, and any other individuals who may be affected by our work. Although we operate primarily in a low-risk environment—predominantly from office-based or remote locations—we recognise our legal and moral obligations to provide a safe and healthy working environment.

2. Responsibilities

Managing Director

  • Alistair Maclenan holds overall responsibility for health and safety within Quarry One Eleven.

  • Ensures that the company complies with relevant legislation (e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act 1974).

  • Reviews this policy annually or following any significant change in operations.

All Staff and Contractors

  • Must take reasonable care for their own health and safety.

  • Report hazards, incidents, or concerns promptly.

  • Adhere to any safety procedures provided, particularly when working on client sites.

3. Risk Assessment and Safe Working

We undertake regular informal risk assessments, especially when:

  • Working from home

  • Travelling to or working from client premises or events

  • Using display screen equipment (DSE) for prolonged periods

Key measures include:

  • Promoting ergonomic workstation setup

  • Encouraging regular breaks from screen use

  • Providing advice on safe lone working and business travel

4. Remote and Home Working

We support flexible, remote working and expect employees and contractors to:

  • Maintain a tidy, safe workspace

  • Ensure adequate lighting and ventilation

  • Use company-provided equipment safely

  • Report any home-related work hazards

5. Business Travel and Events

When attending external events, trade shows, or client meetings:

  • Travel arrangements should prioritise safety

  • Accommodation should meet basic health and safety standards

  • Any incidents or near misses must be reported to management as soon as possible

6. Mental Health and Wellbeing

We recognise that mental wellbeing is as important as physical safety. Quarry One Eleven is committed to:

7. Training and Communication

Although we do not operate from a fixed office, all employees should:

  • Follow emergency protocols if working from client premises

  • Have access to basic first aid supplies and know how to report injuries

9. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or after any significant change to working practices, personnel, or legislation.
